The Recruitment personnel of the New Jersey State Police are geared up to begin the next testing and selection process for candidates to compete to become a Trooper. The exam has only been offered every three years, so serious candidates need to stay aware of the application period and look to reserve their seat in the CCS Test Prep® program. Bergen County "Alternate Route Program" Exam Announced: The staff at the Bergen County Police Academy announced the application period for candidates wishing to compete for a slot in the police academy through the "Alternate Route Program." This is a tremendous opportunity for those who desire a career in law enforcement. The process is EXTREMELY competitive and begins with the administration of a very competitive written exam (scored) on Monday, March 11, 2019, followed by a physical agility assessment (scored) on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, and an oral panel interview (scored) in April.
